Issue 35: November 2026 (print edition released gratis 10/15)

AN ISSUE OF APPETITE
What Feeds You And What Eats You?
So, how hungry are you, anyway? Is your body satiated but your mind and spirit are malnourished? Is your body starving or overfed while your mind and spirit are healthy and thriving? Is it possible to have all three in balance — mind, body, and spirit? Well that, my gentle reader, is yoga. But it’s a topic for another day…or is it? Yoga is more than a practice of physical postures. Yoga means to yoke, to bring together, and that yoking is of the body, mind and spirit. We are human and as such imperfect. We’re not always perfect in our choices, nor do I think we should try to be. Perfection is an ideal that is pointless to chase. This is something that is good to remind ourselves as we enter the winter holiday season once again.
This issue features recipes for a lacto-ovo Thanksgiving menu, a guest submission of poetry from Robert Stinson of Oakland, CA, another oracle card (this one about nutrition) for your consideration, photographic images about California agriculture, a retrospective edition of Diorama Madness showing that a lot of folks would be in much better shape if they had only taken the advice solicited from old Zoltar, Brody the Border Collie’s letter to Santa, an Angelic suggestion for NYE plans, the first installment of 1UV’s new cannabis focused column: Must Be Spliff-Craft, and the next two chapters of my original work of fiction, Brave Enough.
In Brave Enough Phil tries to play Lettie like his new guitar. Will she fall for it or recognize the familiar tune? Dennis starts to show his contempt for Phil and his attraction to Lettie and the two men have a confrontation. Sharing meals together is becoming a challenge and Lettie decides she feels like having lunch instead of breakfast with everyone else. All of it has Lettie not feeling quite right. Will she decide Phil is her taste or Dennis? And will this strange Allen McDaniels turn out to be friend or foe? It’s a lot to digest but you’ll just have to keep reading and see what happens for yourself….
