TURNING THE PAGE -- Inking In The New Year

I would say good riddance to 2025 but the sad reality is as long as there is an authoritarian fascist government in place in the United States, 2026 doesn’t look much better for American women, American businesses, or American pocketbooks. The best anyone can do is take care of themselves. I will continue to write, edit and publish 1UV MONTHLY Magazine and you can look forward to the same level of quality. There will be some changes this year as well. There are new drop-in events (see pg. 31 & 32) and public hours are now every week (see pg. 6). You can also look forward to Diorama Madness, a new format of original comic strips I’ve been working on since this past fall. In a couple months Lucky Stroke will conclude and a new original novel, Brave Enough, will be released TWO chapters at a time. Starting with this issue I have also added 1UV’s Birthdays of Note, a small patch that will be set aside every month for mention of folks, living and/or no longer with us, who I wish to recognize. If it means something, put it in writing. That’s the point of this issue, and that’s what I’ve been doing for over two years now in 1UV MONTHLY. I put down in ink on the page all that which I feel is important to say publicly WITHOUT the cheating crutch of AI writing shortcuts. As the murder of Ukrainian journalists by Russia this past October reminds us, real journalism matters. I still welcome guest submission of content (see pg. 40), offering space without the oppression of editing that bends the writer’s voice toward any political or personal agenda. You can count on the 1st Amendment being respected in 1UV MONTHLY, even while tech companies are choosing to submit to the fascist whims of Donald Trump by censoring anything that might “insult” him or his cronies. This happened to me this past October when I attempted to post a blog article about tariffs and small business on the 1UV Google Business profile. Visit Critical Thought on 1UV’s website to read: Tariffs - An American Made Moldy Turd. (See pg. 39 for the original article) Welcome 2026! 1UV MONTHLY is here in the ink, cutting through bullshit better than any sword.
This is the last issue of 1UV MONTHLY Magazine that will be distributed for free digitally. The digital edition will be available for download on January 1, 2026. The print edition was released to the public on December 15, 2025.
